Long-term benefit
25%

Why PCSK9 inhibitors?
PCSK9 inhibitors work differently from statins, helping your body clear more LDL cholesterol from your blood.
When statins aren’t enough, PCSK9 inhibitors can lower LDL another 50–60%.
They work differently and may be an option when statins aren’t suitable.
One of the few treatments that lower Lp(a), a largely genetic risk factor that diet and statins don’t fix.

How low you bring your cholesterol matters. How long you keep it there matters just as much.

A cholesterol-lowering medication that blocks a protein called PCSK9. With less PCSK9, your liver keeps more of the receptors that clear LDL ("bad") cholesterol from your blood. It's available as an injection (Repatha, Lerochol) or a once-daily pill (Lipfendra).
Usually not. PCSK9 inhibitors are often added to a statin to lower LDL further, and they can be used on their own if statins don't agree with you. Don't stop or change any medication without talking to your clinician first.
Only if it's clinically appropriate. Your clinician reviews your history, lab results, and current medications before prescribing anything, so a prescription isn't guaranteed. You're welcome to share your preferences, and your clinician weighs them alongside your results, risk, and goals.
Your membership covers biomarker testing, your clinical team, ongoing guidance, and follow-up retesting. Medications aren't included and are billed separately.
Healthspan doesn't sell or ship PCSK9 inhibitors. If one is right for you, your clinician sends the prescription to your local pharmacy, where insurance may apply, or to the manufacturer's program for Lerochol ($199/month). Statins and ezetimibe can be filled through our pharmacy partner.
You'll retest after each treatment change and review the results with your clinician. Your plan is adjusted over time based on how your numbers respond.
Possibly. A normal LDL doesn't always mean low risk: ApoB, Lp(a), inflammation, and metabolic health can tell a different story. Testing helps you and your clinician see the full picture.
